Left-wing demonstrators vandalised the building of the Democratic Party in Portland on Wednesday as they protested against the inauguration of Joe Biden.

An anarchist symbol was spray-painted over a sign at the location.

Before the incident, protesters were filmed confronting officers on bicycles.

Heated arguments continued later when police arrived at the site of a traffic incident in which a vehicle flipped over.

Demonstrators reportedly helped rescue a family including an infant.

Eight protesters were arrested during the rally in Portland where left-wing protesters have been regularly confronting police and supporters of former president Donald Trump for months.
