Description

Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Zhao Lijian denied US media claims that President Xi Jinping had asked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in their recent call "not to invade Ukraine during the Games" during a press conference in Beijing on Monday.

"Apparently you are referring to the Bloomberg report, which is completely false. This is not only slander and provocation of Sino-Russian relations but also a deliberate interference and sabotage of the Beijing Winter Olympics," he told journalists.

Zhao's remarks came after the publication of the report following the two leaders last month’s virtual talks.
