Description

Heavy rainfall in Bangladesh has left millions across 11 districts grappling with severe flooding that killed at least 15, according to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Footage recorded in Lalpol on Saturday shows locals using trolleys in the flooded street to transport two bodies wrapped in body bags. Footage also shows locals using ropes to cross the flooded roads while others were seen travelling in a crammed truck.

The country's flood forecasting and warning centre reported that water levels in 11 regional rivers have surpassed 'danger levels.'

Floods have reportedly damaged transportation routes, impeding relief efforts in flood-stricken regions and disrupting business operations.

Local officials announced that 3,160 shelters have been set up to assist those displaced in the floods. The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief also said that 637 medical teams have been dispatched to assist those in flooded regions.
