    Members of the Argentina Fans Club celebrated the birth of Inter Miami's Lionel Messi in Ichapur on Monday.

    "We made 37-pound cakes which have been distributed to our locals, children and the poor also," said Neha Patra, one of Messi’s fans.

    Footage shows locals standing around a statue of the Argentine footballer and eating a giant cake with portraits of Messi to celebrate his 37th birthday.

    "When I was born and when I can understand football, from then I have been watching Messi play," said Patra."He is a role model and he is my idol".

    "He is the God of football for all of us, he is the God of football for us. He is everything for us. That is why he is so close to our hearts," said Shobith Patra, another Messi fan.

    Messi celebrated his 37th birthday with his Argentina teammates in the USA, where they are playing in this year's Conmebol Copa America.
