"What happened here is that the settlers attacked people in their safe homes, in order to terrorise them, they burned more than 30 houses and a multi-purpose hall belonging to the municipality," the town's mayor, Hani Odeh, said.
Footage shows fires burning inside a store in Qusra, as well as a burning bus and car, as well as a multi-purpose hall and damaged houses after being burned and vandalised, while Israeli forces were seen patrolling the town.
"The situation was limited to minor injuries who were transferred to the Qusra centre, also there are many cases of suffocation and many houses were evacuated," an ambulance officer said.
Residents of the town reportedly rushed to confront the attackers, and clashes erupted. Several settlements in the West Bank were attacked by settlers on Saturday according to media reports after news broke that the body of a missing Israeli teen, Binyamin Achimair, 14, was found in the area of Malachei Ha’Shalom with the Israeli military calling the incident 'a terrorist attack'.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the death of the boy a 'heinous murder' and confirmed that Israeli authorities are pursuing the killers of the boy, urging the settlers not to hinder the work of the military and the security service.
