According to media sources, the man approached the Polish Ambassador, shouted "Polish, Polish" and spat on him. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, on a street near the Polish Embassy.

The man was arrested 90 minutes after the incident.

On Wednesday, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki described the event as a "xenophobic act of aggression," on Twitter.

Poland had cancelled a visit of an Israeli delegation to Warsaw to discuss Jewish property restitution this Monday.
