Description

A reported drone strike by Israeli forces in the Tulkarm refugee camp on Thursday resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) described the operation as a counterterrorism measure, which included airstrikes and ground actions aimed at dismantling explosive devices and confronting fighters. The IDF stated they struck 'armed terrorists' during the operation.

Local resident Mohammed Ghannam described the aftermath, saying, “They stormed the neighborhood and houses. They brought down a wall over a lonely old woman sleeping inside. The houses were destroyed, and women and children began to cry.”

Ambulance officer Tawfik Ghannam reported three deaths and four injuries, adding, “Medical crews were attacked and denied access to the camp. Our volunteers are working under very difficult conditions.”

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported extensive damage to infrastructure and public facilities in the camp. Faisal Salameh of the Popular Committee for Tulkarm Camp Services described the situation as "catastrophic," noting widespread destruction to streets, homes, and essential services.

Tensions in the West Bank have been high since October 7, with over 630 Palestinians and at least 16 Israelis killed in the ongoing conflict.
