After losing their first group game against Nigeria, Egypt have since improved and overcome a tough couple of knockout stage games. The Pharaohs knocked out Ivory Coast on penalties in the last 16. Then they went on to beat Morocco in 2-1 in extra time in the quarter-finals at the weekend.

Hosts Cameroon remain unbeaten in the tournament, winning their group before cruising past Comoros in the last 16 and Gambia in the quarter-finals.

The two juggernauts of African football will face off on Thursday night, with the winner booking a place in Sunday's final against Senegal, who beat Burkina Faso 3-1 on Wednesday.
