Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had targeted Hezbollah positions in Houla, Ramiyeh, Qantara, Rab Tlatin, Talusa and Naqoura.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hezbollah announced the death of Mohammed Nehmeh Nasser, nicknamed 'Abu Nehme', who was targeted by an airstrike while travelling in a car near southern Lebanon's Tyre, according to the Israeli military.
According to an (IDF) statement, it 'eliminated' Nasser on Wednesday, claiming he was a commander with the 'Hezbollah terrorist organization's Aziz Unit' and directly responsible for attacks on Israeli territory.
"Naser was the counterpart of Sami Taleb Abdullah, the commander of the Nasser Unit, who was eliminated last month. Together, they served as two of the most significant Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon," the statement added.
The exchanging of shells between the IDF and Hezbollah, Lebanese, and Palestinian factions in the border areas started on October 8, one day after the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war on the Gaza Strip.
