Four people died, and two others were injured after a residential building in Alexandria's Wardian neighborhood collapsed on Friday.
Footage shows civil defence personnel and volunteers removing the rubble of the collapsed building, amid a heavy security presence.
"At 8 a.m. I heard screaming, I rushed out of my house to see what was going on, to be surprised that the opposite building in our street collapsed," Bayoumi Yahya, a resident, said.
Sahar Shaaban, Head of the West Alexandria municipality, stated that the neighborhood's engineering department had previously issued a decision that included the removal of the two upper floors of the building and the restoration of the rest of the floors, but the residents of the collapsed
building refrained from implementing the decision.
