Lebanon's National News Agency reported that the southern suburbs have been struck multiple times since morning. “Hostile warplanes carried out six strikes on the southern suburbs, targeting the vicinity of Ghubairi,” it stated.
Earlier Wednesday, the IDF had issued a warning to residents in parts of Ghubairi to leave the area immediately.
“You are located near Hezbollah facilities and interests against which the Defence Forces will act aggressively in the near term,” an army spokesperson wrote via social media platform ‘X’.
Israel has conducted a ground incursion into parts of southern Lebanon, as well as an ongoing campaign of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets over the past month. Lebanon's Ministry of Health stated that 3,287 have been killed and over 14,222 injured at time of publication.
The current escalation between Israel and Hezbollah began last month with explosions of wireless communications devices used by Hezbollah, which killed dozens and injured thousands. The sides have exchanged cross-border strikes since the outbreak of the 2023 Gaza war.
