Firefighters were seen rescuing a tourist from Tuscany's Leaning Tower of Pisa on Wednesday after the 45-year-old man was reported to have suffered from a heart attack.
Footage also shows a firefighter assisting the rescued tourist on a stretcher as a crane hoisted them down to the ground.
Rescue officials said the tourist from Sri Lanka experienced a heart attack while inside the sixth level of the tower and was later transported to a hospital.
Tuscany's most famous bell tower was completed in 1372 after taking 177 years to build. The historical landmark began leaning shortly after its construction and was finally stabilised after a massive restructuring project in the 1990s as part of efforts to stop the monument from falling.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the entire Piazza Del Duomo in 1987.
