Following the recent passage of the law at the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the Parliament adopted a resolution on the state of women in Afghanistan with 565 votes in favour, 8 votes against, and 43 abstentions. The EU denounces the exclusion of women and girls from Afghan public life following the Taliban's recent declaration and implementation of Sharia law.

The Parliament also passed a resolution on the state of affairs in Venezuela with 309 votes in favour, 201 against, and 12 abstentions. The resolution stated that the EU should exert all of its efforts to guarantee that Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, the country's lawfully elected president, can take office on January 10, 2025.
