Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that 'whoever harms us, we will harm them', as he held talks with his military at Tel Nof airbase near Rehovot on Thursday.

"We are in challenging times. We are in the midst of the war in Gaza, which is continuing at full force, even as we are continuing our relentless efforts to return our hostages," he claimed.

"However, we are also prepared for scenarios involving challenges in other sectors. We have determined a simple rule: Whoever harms us, we will harm them," he continued.

Footage also shows the PM meeting with his 133rd squadron, responsible for the country's F-15 fighter planes.

His comments came after Iran vowed revenge for the strike on its consulate in Damascus which killed two generals, among others, on April 1.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Israel 'must be punished', speaking during Eid al-Fitr prayers on Wednesday.

Israel did not admit responsibility for the strike, although a spokesperson claimed that the target was a 'military building of Quds forces', referring to a division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
