Description

Dozens of protesters gathered in the Esplanade des Invalides in Paris on Saturday to protest against the Olympic Games being held in Beijing. Associations representing Uyghur people and their supporters met to protest calling for a boycott of the Olympic event in China by France and it's athletes.

"France is incoherent, moreover our government is not able to make a decision or to take a position on their own. Certainly, France is waiting for Germany to join this boycott to make a decision. France is incapable despite the fact that our President, France will take over the presidency of Europe for six months," stated a protester.

French National Assembly passed a non-binding law on January 20 that recognised 'the violence perpetrated by the People's Republic of China against the Uighurs as constituting crimes against humanity and genocide.' Though these accusations were promptly denied by the Chinese embassy in Paris through its spokesperson.
