Hezbollah said it targeted "the headquarters of the 769th Brigade in the Kiryat Shmona barracks with Falaq missiles" in response to the assassination of its commander in the al-Hosh area.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Lebanese group announced the death of Mohammed Nasser Nehmeh, nicknamed Abu Nehme, who was targeted by an airstrike, according to the Israeli army.
The IDF claimed that Nehmeh assumed his position in Hezbollah in 2016 and was responsible for rocket and air attacks targeting Israel. Hezbollah has not released the details of Nehmeh’s military responsibilities.
In separate statements on Wednesday, Hezbollah said it had carried out several attacks in northern Israel, targeting the Kafr Shuba Hills and the Tayhat triangle.
Hezbollah and Palestinian factions have been exchanging cross-border shelling with the Israeli forces since October 8, one day after the start of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
