Tensions rose during a pro-Palestine demonstration in London on Saturday, as tens of thousands of demonstrators were seen arguing with a group of counter-protesters holding Israeli flags.

Footage shows the protesters marching with Palestinian flags and chanting traditional slogans while being blocked by police officers, who were securing the area during the protest. The video also features security officers trying to disperse and break up a die-in protest on Downing Street.

"To the new government, listen to the results on Thursday, listen to the voices of ordinary people," said Jeremy Corbyn, an Independent MP for Islington North.

Ismail Patel, Founder of Friends of Al-Aqsa, as well addressed the newly elected Prime Minister Keir Starmer saying that despite winning the elections the politician has not "won the hearts and minds of the people of this country."

"Ignore us at your peril!" said Patel.

According to local media reports, at least 100,000 people were estimated to take to the streets of London on Saturday for the protest organised by Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

It is also reported that several demonstrators were arrested after a break-away demonstration moved in the direction of Downing Street.

The Hamas-Israel war erupted after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200, according to Israeli officials.

In the enclave, the IDF launched a large-scale campaign of airstrikes and ground incursions, killing 38,098 Palestinians and injuring 87,705 others as of the time of publication.
