Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi reiterated Tehran's calls for bringing the perpetrators behind the killing of Iranian Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani to justice during an address in a ceremony marking two years since the demise of the late general.
"The main aggressor and murderer and criminal, the then president of the United States, must be brought to justice, retribution must be carried out, and God's judgment must be carried out against him," said Raisi as he addressed the crowds at the Grand Mosalla mosque of Tehran on Monday.
Iranian Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani was killed in a US airstrike at Baghdad's international airport, together with the deputy leader of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi, also known as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
The Pentagon released a statement confirming the US had carried out the airstrike at the order of its then US President Donald Trump, calling it a "decisive defensive action to protect US personnel abroad."
