According to the commander of the demolition unit Ilya Manyakin, “most of the destructive explosives were artillery shells, mortar mines, grenades and RPGs (Rocket-propelled grenade). Today 189 pieces of ammunition have been destroyed.”
Following more than six weeks of hostilities, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a Russian-brokered deal to end the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh on November 9.
Under the terms of the agreement, 1,960 Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the region to observe the ceasefire.
