Thousands of tourists gathered in the Serbian town of Guca on Sunday as the world-renowned Trumpet Festival returned for its 63rd edition.

Footage shows brass bands parading through the streets, playing traditional Balkan folk songs.

"For me, the highlights are the little groups that travel from table to table, from cafe to bar, and it's just so human," a tourist from Germany said. "It's really amazing, something completely new here, and we will definitely be back next year."

"It's awesome," added a Serbian visitor. "I like music, I like the trumpet, and I like it when young people enjoy it because I am like that too."

According to local media, the 'Golden Trumpet' competition is the main highlight of the four-day festival, with dozens of musicians vying for the title of best trumpet player.

The festival has been taking place in Guca since 1961 and has become one of Europe's largest and most popular festivals, attracting roughly 600,000 visitors each year.
