The first edition of the Asian Basketball Champions League officially kicked off in Dubai on Sunday, with the event being hosted by Al Ahli Club of the United Arab Emirates.
The tournament, set to enthral fans and enthusiasts alike, will run till June 15 and is graced by the participation of eight elite clubs from across Asia.
Following a match between South Korea's KCC Egis and Iran's Gorgan, which saw the Iranian team emerge victorious with a scoreline of 102-79, a press conference was held.
South Korean team's coach, Chang Jin-Chun, acknowledged the strength of their opponents and vowed to up their game for the next encounters.
"The Iranian team is very strong, and we were somewhat lacking in training. In any case, I will prepare well for my next game to perform a bit better than today," he said.
Iranian team player Joseph Young described his team as 'great' and attributed their success to their cohesive gameplay.
