Worshippers celebrated Easter Sunday attending Mass in the restored Armenian Catholic Cathedral of Our Mother of Reliefs, in Aleppo's old city, on Sunday.
The cathedral was reopened to the public in December 2019 following restoration and renovation works to fix damages after bomb attacks partially destroyed the building in 2015.
"Today, after years of closure, we return to celebrate with prayers and masses under these beautiful domes and arches, and in front of this structure which is a beautiful representational piece of Aleppo's ancient architectural art," said the head of the Armenian Catholic Community in Aleppo Archbishop Boutrus Mrayati.
