Description

Emergency vehicles were seen racing through the streets of Lebanon, including the city of Tyre in the south of the country, following a new wave of explosions attributed to handheld radios and solar energy systems on Wednesday.

The footage shows ambulances and fire engines responding to emergency calls. Lebanese Civil Defence reported that it carried out several firefighting and evacuation operations in various regions.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced earlier that the second day of explosions had claimed the lives of 20 people and injured 450 others.

Tuesdays blasts, involving exploding pagers, left 12 people dead and injured more than 2,800 others. Hezbollah described that attack as Israeli 'criminal aggression', confirming that the devices belonged to 'employees of various Hezbollah units and institutions' and that Israel would get 'retribution'.

Israel had not commented on either attack at time of publication.

Hezbollah and Palestinian factions have been exchanging cross-border fire with Israeli forces, which escalated following the 2023 Israel-Hamas conflict
