US Vice President Kamala Harris slammed former President Donald Trump, comparing him to perpetrators, during her first presidential campaign rally which was held in Milwaukee on Thursday.

"Before I was elected United States senator, I was elected attorney general of the state of California and I was a courtroom prosecutor before then. And in those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds," she told the roaring crowd.

"Predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. So hear me when I say. I know Donald Trump's type," Harris continued.

The vice president also accused Trump of wanting to take the country 'backwards' through Project 2025, also known as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project.

The think-tank outlines a series of conservative policy proposals for the next presidency. Trump has previously praised Project 2025 but denied involvement in it.

During her speech, Harris also announced that her campaign "had the best 24 hours of grassroots fundraising in presidential campaign history."

Her team has raised more than $81 million (€74.7 million) during the first 24 hours since Biden announced his withdrawal from the race on Sunday. Since then, Harris's campaign topped $100 million (€92.2 million) in funding.

Meanwhile, the vice president criticised the fundraising methods of Trump's campaign, accusing him of trading information for funding.

"Donald Trump is relying on support from billionaires and big corporations and he is trading access in exchange for campaign contributions," she claimed.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5. On July 15, the Republican Party convention nominated former White House Head of State Donald Trump.
