Description

Hundreds of people marched through the streets of Berlin on Saturday to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Footage shows the demonstrators marching with Palestinian flags, signs and banners, including 'Freedom for Palestine,' 'One genocide doesn't justify another' among others. The video also features the demonstrators arguing with counter protesters, who were seen holding umbrellas with Israeli flags.

"More than 35,000 people have died, more than half of them are children and women, 2/3 of them actually. So we are here to show the German public and also the German politicians that they should, you know, change their ways and consider Palestinian lives worthy of saving," said one of the protesters.

Speaking about the recognition of Palestinian state, another protester said that it is highly unlikely to happen in case of Germany.

"I don't expect Germany [to recognise Palestine]. I think Germany will be the last country in the world to do that, but yeah, I think every country should recognise Palestine."

The war between Israel and Hamas broke out after the Palestinian group launched an unprecedented attack on northern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people and kidnapping more than 200 others, mostly civilians.

In turn, Israel launched a large-scale campaign of airstrikes and ground incursions, killing at least 37,877 Palestinians and injuring more than 86,969 others as of the time of publication.
