Dozens of protesters marched across Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, in a rally on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the start of the Syrian conflict.
Protesters held placards reading "Free Syria" and carried Syrian Independence flags.
One protester Karim said, "We want to tell the whole world that the Syrian people want help, you know they want help to get rid of this regime, they want freedom and they want democracy as soon as possible."
The conflict in Syria began on March 15 in 2011 with demonstrations against the government of President Bashar Assad.
Nearly 400,000 were estimated to have been killed in the conflict with 5 million Syrians fleeing the country and 6 million internally displaced.
