Description

The aftermath of Hezbollah rocket attacks was seen in Safed on Wednesday, with damaged homes and vehicles, as well as smoke rising.

"The escalation is rising every day," said one local, Anna. "So, yesterday it was three times, it wasn't one rocket or two rockets which was in the beginning of the war. So, it was serious and this horrible noise and the sounds."

Hezbollah reported that it had targeted the Northern Command headquarters of the Israeli army at the Dado base in Safed with dozens of rockets. The Israeli army confirmed that a large number of rockets hit in Safed and Nahariya.

The IDF also stated that it had 'targeted rocket launch platforms' as well as "weapons storage facilities, ready-to-use launch platforms, and Hezbollah infrastructure sites."

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, 72 people were killed and around 354 others were injured in Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that Hezbollah launched more than 30 rockets since the morning, resulting in two injuries, one of whom was in critical condition.

Hezbollah also stated that it targeted the Mossad headquarters in the outskirts of Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning.

The Israeli military began 'Operation Northern Arrows' on Monday, with airstrikes on Hezbollah locations. Over 600 people have been killed in total and more than 2,000 injured at time of publication, according to Lebanon.

Tensions in southern Lebanon have escalated over the past week, following mass pager and handheld radio explosions, which Hezbollah blamed on Israel. The IDF did not comment.

Hezbollah and Israeli forces have been exchanging cross border fire since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza in October 2023.
