Description

US President Trump paid tribute to the victims of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, at a 9/11 memorial just metres away from where the hijacked plane crashed, killing all onboard.

President Trump stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against radical Islamic terrorism and making sure the sacrifice made by the victims would never be forgotten.

"This field is now a monument to American defiance. This memorial is now a message to the world. America will never, ever submit to tyranny," Trump said.

US Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and the Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Wolf were also among those who made speeches at the memorial service.

A moment of silence was held for the victims and family members who lost loved ones in the attack read out their names as the bells of remembrance were rung for each of the dead.
