Canada came away victorious in the women's ice hockey final clash at the Wukesong Arena in Beijing on Thursday, the sixth time the neighbouring countries have met in an Olympic final.

Canada's team coach Troy Ryan and players Marie-Philip Poulin and Brianne Jenner addressed reporters at the post match press conference following their 3-2 victory.

“Ye obviously the rivalry between us and the US is pretty heated”, said Jenner, “but Canada is a hockey nation and hopefully we have given everybody something to celebrate back home” she added.

Poulin, who is the first hockey player to score in four gold medal games said that, “good things happen to good people" adding that the victory today was a "special one".
