Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on countries to form an 'alliance of humanity' against Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, during his speech to the UN General Assembly High-level General Debate on Tuesday.

"70 years ago just as Hitler was stopped by alliance of humanity, Netanyahu and his murder network must be stopped by alliance of humanity," he said.

"The only reason for Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people is the unconditional support from a group of countries," he added. "Countries (...) are openly complicit in this massacre."

He also claimed that the international community had 'failed in a big way' on Palestine and attributed it to a 'big moral collapse'.

Ergodan has previously drawn parallels between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's actions and those of Nazi Germany. Previously Netanyahu has stated that Erdogan was 'the last person who can preach morality to us', accusing the Turkish leader of committing 'genocide against the Kurds' and holding a 'world record for imprisoning journalists who oppose his rule'. Turkey strongly denies those claims.

The UNGA High-level General Debate continues in New York until September 30.
