A German government spokesperson commented on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project during a press conference in Berlin on Wednesday, one week after a German NGO alleged that Berlin had offered the US a deal to drop sanctions against the pipeline.
''As you know the Nord Stream 2 is a topic that has been controversially discussed for months. The federal government has taken the concerns of third countries seriously at all times. The position of the German government is clear also in the conversations with the USA. The content of these talks is, as has been said here many times, confidential therefore I can't report anything about them," stated German government spokesperson Ulrike Demmer.
