Canada’s women hockey players spoke with the press at the main media centre after their team beat rival’s US 3-2, reclaiming the Olympic women's hockey supremacy on Thursday in Beijing.

Captain Marie-Philip Poulin led Canada with two goals and an assist while Sarah Nurse helped with a goal and as assists. The goaltender Ann-Rebee Desbiens made 38 saves. Poulin is also the first hockey player to score in four gold medal games.

“It's something that we've again been working on and working towards for so many years. And so, the fact that we are able to come out on top and really get the gold medal that we deserve is absolutely incredible,” stated Sarah Nurse.

Canada has reached every final since women’s hockey made its Olympic debut in Nagano, Japan back in 1998.
