As the Group of Seven summit came to a close in Cornwall on Sunday, United States President Joe Biden acknowledged the fact the relationship between Moscow and Washington was at a 'low point', thus agreeing with his Russian counterpart's earlier statements.

"Let me make it clear, I think he's right that it's a low point, and it depends on how he responds to acting consistent with international norms, which in many cases he has not," said Joe Biden as he prepares to meet face-to-face with the Russian President in Geneva on Wednesday.

Putin had told NBC News' Keir Simmons in an exclusive interview in Moscow, "We have a bilateral relationship that has deteriorated to its lowest point in recent years."

Accusations of cyberattacks originating on Russian soil and allegations of attempted meddling in the US elections have pushed the relationship between the two countries to its lowest point in years.
