Mourners attended the funerals for Hezbollah commanders Ibrahim Muhammad Qubaisi and Hussein Hani Ezz el-Din on Wednesday, at Rawdat Al-Hawra Zainab in the Ghobeiry area. The commanders were reported killed during an Israeli air raid on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Footage shows the arrival of the coffins draped in Hezbollah flags. People can be seen carrying the caskets on their shoulders and laying them before mourners, before performing funeral prayers. The families were also seen paying their final respects.

"This enemy is attempting to subdue this nation, sometimes from Palestine and other times from Lebanon," said Secretary-General of the Al-Ummah Movement, Sheikh Abdullah Jbri. "However, it becomes evident, with each assassination of a leader... that this nation will not abandon Palestine. This nation is ready to offer its blood, lives, wealth, and homes for the return to their homes and liberation of Palestine."

The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that the air force had conducted a strike on Beirut's southern suburbs and eliminated the 'terrorist' Qubaisi, alongside other senior commanders.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated on Wednesday that 72 people had been killed and 354 others wounded in the third day of Israel's latest campaign of airstrikes. According to Israeli media, over 30 rockets had been fired by Hezbollah since Wednesday morning, resulting in two critical injuries.

The Israeli military began 'Operation Northern Arrows' on Monday, with airstrikes on Hezbollah locations. Over 600 people have been killed in total and more than 2,000 injured at time of publication, according to Lebanon.

Tensions in southern Lebanon have escalated over the past week, following mass pager and handheld radio explosions, which Hezbollah blamed on Israel. The IDF did not comment.

Hezbollah and Israeli forces have been exchanging cross border fire since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza in October 2023.
