"Five more checkpoints [for distributing humanitarian aid] will be opened in the city, and Russian peacekeepers have said that they will also help us with the distribution. The main question now is whether we will be able to get the supplies without any troubles," said Mayor of Stepanakert David Sargsyan.
According to EMERCOM, on November 25th, the second convoy with humanitarian aid arrived in Stepanakert with water and construction materials.
Following weeks of hostilities, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a Russian-brokered deal to end fighting over the Nagorno-Karabakh region on November 9.
Under the terms of the deal, 1,960 Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the disputed region to monitor the ceasefire.
The agreement also sees Azerbaijan obtaining control of the territory taken in the most recent fighting, and Armenia relinquishing control of further areas held since the 1990s.
