UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the Iranian retaliatory attacks on US military bases in Iraq 'reckless and dangerous' and said that Iran 'must instead pursue urgent de-escalation' speaking at the House of Commons in London on Wednesday.

Opposition Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn asked Johnson if he can "confirm that he opposes any further retaliation or escalation in violence in a situation where the region is in real risk of going into a full-scale war?"

"The United Kingdom has been working solidly since the crisis began to bring together, in particular, our European allies in their response. And the House will have noted the E3 [European three] declaration that was issued by France, Germany and the United Kingdom, in which we drew particular attention to the baleful role played in the region for a very long time by Qassem Soleimani." Johnson said in response.

On Tuesday night, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC] launched missiles to target US military bases in Iraq in retaliation for the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani last week.

The ballistic missiles hit two US air bases in western Iraq. US President Donald Trump tweeted "assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good!"
