Rescue teams from Chile and Lebanon continue to search for survivors, on Friday, after possible signs of life were detected at a rubble site in Mar Mikhael, central Beirut, a month after massive blasts tore through the city's port area.
In the morning, rescuers detected breaths and the heat of two bodies beneath the rubble, according to local reports. So far, no survivors have been found.
Rescue workers could be seen clearing rubble in a cordoned off area with the help of a crane and heavy vehicles, observed by hundreds of onlookers. The Lebanese Civil Defense, engineers and civil defence personnel are also working on the search.
Search efforts were launched on Wednesday, after a sniffer dog called Flash belonging to a Chilean search and rescue team detected something and ran towards a collapsed building, signalling a possible heartbeat under the rubble.
