The army could be seen carrying out operations, including detecting the mines and carrying out controlled explosions to dismantle improvised explosive device (IED) and mines. The mines have been known to cause civilian casualties in the regions, mostly agricultural areas.
According to Syrian state news agency SANA, the operation includes areas from Al-Rahjan and the Wadi Al-Atheeb region.
SANA also reported that at least 18 people were wounded after two mines planted by IS exploded on Sunday.
