Description

As the holiday season nears, Japan's Keyakizaka has decked out its 400 metre-long street with hundreds of Christmas lights as Tokyo Tower illuminates the city's night sky.

Footage filmed on Tuesday shows locals and tourists strolling down the street behind Roppongi Hills and taking pictures with the lights.

Spectators can be seen embracing the festive spirit. One tourist, Tamar, said it felt like there was 'magic in the air.'

"We wish that in our country it would be like this, It's amazing. [...] It gives the city much more personality," added another tourist, Omer.

"You listen to people laughing all the time as soon as the light changes but that puts another flavour to the view of this beautiful part of Tokyo city," added a third, Ricardo Perez.

With Christmas and New Years still over a month away, some tourists said that the decorations 'brought us the Christmas spirit' early.

The alley has reportedly been decorated with over 700,000 LED lights for the holiday season.

Keyakizaka has become a renowned holiday season destination in Japan, with dozens of tourists and locals flocking to the street for a taste of the festive cheer.
