Description

Units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) opened main and secondary roads in the city of Daraa as a result of a Russian-brokered truce agreement on Wednesday.

Bulldozers were also seen clearing the debris of post-war destruction after the opposition forces left the city, often referred to as the 'cradle of the revolution.'

Earlier this month the SAA and Russian forces took control of the southern towns of al-Yadudah and Daraa, following truce agreements with local leadership.

According to the agreement, those militants who wish to stay in the city must hand their weapons to the authorities.

Over 38,000 civilians were forced to flee Daraa al-Balad, with the fightings escalating since July, according to the UN.
