Planes carrying Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President of the European Council Charles Michel were seen landing at Newquay airport, St Mawgan in Pydar, on Thursday, as the two politicians arrive in the UK for the G7 Summit in Cornwall.

The United Kingdom is hosting the G7 Summit in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, from June 11-13.

Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) consisting of Germany, Italy, France, the UK, Japan, the US and Canada, along with EU representatives and leaders from guest countries including Australia, India, South Africa, and South Korea are attending the first day of the annual summit to focus on global issues and policies on Friday, June 11.

The US held the G7 Presidency in 2020 but did not convene a Leaders' Summit due to the global pandemic. For this edition, the UK aims to unite the members to discuss the post-pandemic recovery and environmental policies for the future.
