US President Donald Trump commented on Brexit, possible nuclear arms control deal with Russia and other issues as a photo opportunity with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg turned into a press conference in London on Tuesday.

"I don't even know where that rumour started. We have absolutely nothing to do with it, and we wouldn't want to. If you handed it to us on a silver platter, we want nothing to do with it," said Trump about allegations that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson would 'sell off' the National Health Service to the US in a trade deal if Brexit was to happen.

Trump called Johnson "capable" after saying he would "stay out of the [UK] election."

"Russia wants to make a deal very much on arms control and nuclear. And that's smart and so do we. We think it would be a good thing. And we'll also certainly bring in, as you know, China. And we may bring them in later and we may bring them in now. Russia wants to do something badly and so do we. It would be a great thing to do," Trump added.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the NATO Leaders' Summit, which marks the 70th anniversary since the formation of the North Atlantic Alliance.
