Gym employee and volunteer firefighter Mike Bruno climbed 110 flights of stairs on a stairmill at his local gym in Norwood, New Jersey, on Friday, in tribute to the firefighters who died 19 years ago during the World Trade Center attacks.
Bruno can be seen climbing the stairs in his empty gym, in a challenge he takes up each year on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The 110 fights of stairs symbolise the 110 floors of the Twin Towers, which collapsed after being struck by two airplanes on September 11, 2001. Firefighters across the United States commemorate their fallen colleagues each year in a similar fashion.
