Description

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki held a press conference in Washington DC on Thursday on the anniversary of the storming of Capitol Hill, when she also mentioned the situation in Kazakhstan.

Jen Psaki answered questions such as why US President Joe Biden had not named Donald Trump during his speech on the attack on Capitol Hill in 2021.

She also confirmed that peacekeeping troops from the Eurasian military alliance Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) had been deployed to Kazakhstan and that the process was being monitored internationally. Further, she commented on a comparison made by Vice President Kamala Harris, who compared the Capitol attack with the attack on Pearl Harbor and 9/11.

Next week, Russia and the United States will hold another round of dialogue on strategic stability in Geneva. This event would be followed by a meeting of the Nato-Russia Council in Brussels and consultations at the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna.
