After all the official events Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping spent their free time going sightseeing in Saint Petersburg on Thursday.

The two leaders went sailing on the Neva river, visited Russian cruiser Aurora - the symbol of the 1917 October revolution and enjoyed masterpieces of the State Hermitage Museum.

The Chinese leader is on a three-day visit to Russia focussed on deepening the partnership between the two countries. On Friday he will take part on the plenary session of the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.
