Family members, friends and fans welcomed the Danish ice hockey team returning from the 2022 Beijing Olympics, at the Copenhagen airport on Thursday.

Players were seen hugging their loved ones and giving interviews to the media.

Denmark got eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Olympic tournament, losing 3-1 by the Russian Olympic Committee team on Wednesday.

This was the Danish team's first-ever participation in the Olympics and its placement amongst the best eight teams of the tournament exceeded the expectations.

"We feel we are very very proud of being here and we're still waiting for the boys to come in, I am the father of one of the players, actually two of the players, number 22 and number 25, which is two defence players and I think that everybody in the team has done a very very great job," said Karsten Lauridsen, father of two of the players.
