Staff from Russia’s Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) were seen rescuing a dozen chickens from the yard of a flooded house in the Tyumen region on Saturday.

Footage shows rescuers pulling chickens out of water and handing them over to locals.

According to EMERCOM, as of Saturday, 112 houses and 188 plots remain flooded in 13 settlements of the Tyumen region.

"The water level in the Ishim River is rising, within the city of Ishim it has already reached 911 centimetres. Ice blasting has been carried out on the river and the blockage near the footbridge has been cleared. The works on increasing the height of the dam and building temporary embankment dams continue," the press service added.

Flooding was reported in 39 regions of Russia, with the Altai region in Siberia, and Tyumen, Orenburg and Kurgan regions in Southern Urals under a state of emergency.
