Roscosmos postponed the Angara-A5 rocket launch from the Vostochny Cosmodrome for a second time in two days, just seconds before liftoff on Wednesday.
Footage shows the rocket on the launch pad, as the dispatcher gave the command and announced another 24-hour halt.
According to Roscosmos chief Yuri Borisov, the Angara-A5 launch had been postponed this time due to a 'failure in the engine start control system.'
"A new technical fault has been identified, which, based on preliminary telemetry analysis, appears to be a failure in the engine start control system. This is most likely a software error, which will be addressed today," he explained.
Borisov added that another launch attempt was set for tomorrow, April 11.
Tuesday's launch of the Angara-A5 rocket was cancelled due to a 'failure of the central unit oxidiser tank pressurisation system.'
The Angara-A5 is set to replace the older Proton-M in the near future. The new rocket, according to Roscosmos, is environmentally friendly and does not use toxic fuel components, unlike its predecessor.
