Russian President Vladimir Putin received a personal welcome from DPRK leader Kim Jong-un on his arrival in Pyongyang on Tuesday.

Footage shot on a 360-degree-camera shows Putin descending the airstairs and greeting Kim Jong-un with a handshake and a hug, before the two were seen having a chat and leaving the airfield.

Putin's official visit to Pyongyang, scheduled for June 18-19, includes discussions on various topics such as the economy, energy, agriculture, trade, international relations, and security.

This visit marks the Russian president's second trip to the DPRK. In 2000 he met with the incumbent leader's father and predecessor, Kim Jong Il.

Following his visit, Putin is set to travel to Hanoi at the invitation of Nguyen Phu Trong, Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party's Central Committee.
