Mali Air Force Chief of Staff Alou Boi Diarra described Russia as 'one of the world leaders' in defence technology, in an interview with the Russian media after visiting the Army-2024 Military Forum in Moscow on Wednesday.
"Russia is one of the world leaders in the field of defence technologies and produces high-class equipment that is perfectly adapted not only to the geographical and climatic conditions of Mali, but also to combat [adverse] conditions. The equipment is reliable, efficient, easy to maintain and allows to achieve incredible results on the battlefield," he said.
Diarra added that the Russian equipment presented at the exhibition had strongly impressed the Malian delegation.
"Frankly speaking, we felt like children in a toy store at the forum, because it presented everything we need in the field of defence and security. The mastery of the Russian defence industry does not need any additional demonstration. What we saw is not only thought-provoking, but also enviable in some aspects," he said.
The Malian Air Force chief of staff also praised co-operation between Russia and Mali, calling it 'holistic' and 'comprehensive'.
The 10th International Military-Technical Forum Army-2024 took place on August 12-14 at Patriot Park in the Moscow region.
At the event, domestic and foreign companies showcased cutting-edge models of weapons, military and special equipment. Additionally, scientific and business meetings, and expert councils on global issues, were held. Over 80 foreign delegations and over 120 enterprises participated in the forum.
